MY LIFE IN PHOTOS - EARLY BRUCE & BLANCHE
Blanche, age 7.
Long-haired hippie Blanche, age 22, just days after we first met in 1967 in her railroad apartment at 109 East 2nd Street in New York’s East Village.
A 4’x6’ painting that Blanche made before I met her. It was hanging on the wall of her apartment the first time I went there. I always felt that the painting was my introduction to Blanche. It was like I knew her. I was enthralled.
Me, in 1967, on a swing in the kitchen of Blanche’s kitchen. Why she had a swing there I’ll never know but my very first night visiting her I sat in it for many hours telling her why we were destined to meet. We’ve been married over 50 years. I credit it to the swing.
Me and Blanche, same swing, same apartment, a couple of months after we met.

Photos from our ashram years.
Bruce and Blanche in Rudi’s classroom on 10th Street. We are toward the back just in front of the dancing Shiva.
Another shot of us in the classroom. John Mann, author of the book 14 YEARS WITH MY TEACHER is sitting just to the left of Blanche. After Rudi’s death, he went on to preserve Rudi’s ashram in Big Indian.
